Building the Standard: A 21–9 Season and CIF Quarterfinal Run

Ontario Christian basketball took major steps forward this season, finishing with an impressive 21–9 record. Along the way, the Knights captured two tournament championships (Glendora Tournament and Knighttime Classic) and advanced to the CIF Division 3 Quarterfinals, marking one of the program’s most competitive postseason runs in recent years.
Head Coach Fischer continued to elevate the program, becoming the winningest coach in program history, surpassing Scott Brummel’s 200-win mark. Under his leadership, this team showed consistent growth, resilience, and a competitive edge that carried throughout the season.
This group was defined by far more than box scores and records. They played with toughness, togetherness, and a refusal to back down in any moment. The Knights consistently competed until the final whistle, highlighted by multiple buzzer-beater moments from Max Steen and Cheeko Bermudez, who delivered in high-pressure situations throughout the year.
The Knights’ challenging schedule prepared them for CIF postseason success. They earned strong playoff wins over Villa Park at home and San Marino on the road, before surviving a thrilling 54–52 battle against the Titans in a game that came down to the wire. In the CIF Quarterfinals, Ontario Christian ultimately fell to the eventual champions, Murrieta Mesa, closing the season against elite competition.
More importantly, this team set a new standard for the program. Ontario Christian basketball made a clear statement this season: the Knights are rising, and they will be a force moving forward in Southern California basketball.
