OC Alum Kaitlyn Clark’11 Named SEC Specialist of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Alabama gymnast Kaitlyn Clark was named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week the league office announced on Tuesday.

Clark won her second vault title in three meets with a career-best 9.975 last Friday night against then No. 1 Florida to push Alabama to a season-best 49.500 team score, solidifying the Crimson Tide's position as the league's best vault team.

The senior also posted Alabama's top score on the floor exercise, the event where the Tide is ranked No. 1 in the SEC and in the nation. Clark helped Alabama upset the Gators, propelling the Tide to a 197.4 team score, making Alabama the highest scoring team in the SEC and the second highest scoring team in the nation this season.

Clark and her teammates return to the road this week, traveling to Lexington, Ky., to face No. 24 Kentucky. Alabama returns home Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. CT to take on the Auburn Tigers.
